Construction Safety Research Institute Establishes Safety and Health Advisory Committee
Samsung C&T Construction Division announced on the 22nd that it has set safety as its top management priority for next year and has significantly expanded its safety and health organization.
To achieve the top management goal of safety, the Safety and Environment Office, which was previously operated with two teams, has been expanded into the Safety and Health Office, comprising a total of seven teams: the Safety and Health Policy Team, Operations Team, Support Team, Environment Team, and Safety and Health Teams for three business divisions.
The Safety and Health Office is responsible for establishing and implementing company-wide safety and health policies. To this end, a Chief Safety and Health Officer (CSO) with independent authority over personnel, budget, and evaluation has been newly appointed. The CSO, at the vice president level, oversees all safety and health operations.
Samsung C&T also established the Construction Safety Research Institute, a dedicated organization for safety research, and the Safety and Health Advisory Committee.
The Construction Safety Research Institute is responsible for equipment safety, design safety review (Design for Safety), education, and consulting, leading the development of solutions to create safe construction sites. It also conducts safety management consulting to raise the safety and health standards of partner companies.
The Safety and Health Advisory Committee consists of internal and external experts, including professors in the safety field, serving as an advisory body to the CSO.
A Samsung C&T official stated, "Social demands and interest in construction site safety management are higher than ever," adding, "By setting safety as the top management priority for the new year, we will continuously upgrade the company's safety and health management level to maintain the highest safety management system in the construction industry."
