[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] bhc Chicken announced on the 21st that it has delivered self-reliance support funds to migrant women who have suffered from domestic violence.
On the 20th, bhc Chicken visited the Migrant Women Center and delivered support funds amounting to 30 million KRW.
According to Statistics Korea, multicultural households have steadily increased from about 300,000 households in 2015 to about 370,000 households last year, and domestic violence experienced by married migrant women has become a social issue. In fact, according to the "Survey on the Stable Stay of Married Migrants" published by the National Human Rights Commission in 2018, 42.1% of respondents reported experiencing domestic violence.
A center official who attended the delivery ceremony said, "As multicultural families increase every year, multifaceted efforts are needed for the stable settlement of migrant women. We appreciate the support and will make meticulous efforts to help migrant women who have suffered from domestic violence and their accompanying children become self-reliant and reintegrate into society."
Kim Chung-hyun, Executive Director of bhc Chicken, said while delivering the support funds, "What migrant women who have suffered most need right now is social interest and consideration, and we hope our small sincerity will help heal their wounds."
