In November, the Most Used Shopping Apps by Koreans: Coupang, 11st, Gmarket, and Ably in Order
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Last month, the shopping app most used by Koreans across all generations was 'Coupang,' according to a survey. App analytics service WiseApp announced on the 21st the results of its survey on the most used shopping apps by generation in Korea.
WiseApp conducted a sample survey in November of Korean smartphone users aged 10 and above (Android + iOS). Combining all generations, the shopping app with the highest number of users was Coupang, with 24.2 million users in one month. This was followed by 11st with 8.6 million users, Gmarket with 6.68 million, Ably with 5.28 million, Today’s House with 4.74 million, Tmon with 4.14 million, Wemakeprice with 3.85 million, and Auction with 3.61 million users.
The most used shopping apps varied by generation. For teenagers, the top eight apps by number of users were Coupang, Ably, Musinsa, Brandy, Zigzag, 11st, StyleShare, and Gmarket, with five of these being specialty malls. For those in their 20s, the top eight were Coupang, Zigzag, Ably, Musinsa, Brandy, Olive Young, 11st, and Idus, with six being specialty malls.
In their 30s, the most used apps were Coupang, 11st, Gmarket, Tmon, Wemakeprice, Ably, Today’s House, and Auction. For those in their 40s, the order was Coupang, 11st, Gmarket, Today’s House, Tmon, GS SHOP, Wemakeprice, and Auction. For those aged 50 and above, the ranking was Coupang, 11st, Gmarket, Today’s House, Auction, CJ OnStyle, GS SHOP, and Lotte Home Shopping.
This survey by WiseApp estimated the number of users who used each individual shopping app at least once during November, targeting shopping apps on Google Play and the App Store. Secondhand trading apps, delivery apps, Naver, KakaoTalk, and others were excluded from the survey.
