[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, has ordered the supply of fish to the citizens of Pyongyang.
Korean Central News Agency reported on the 21st, "The respected Comrade Kim Jong-un showed kindness by sending fish to the capital's citizens," adding, "Thousands of tons of fish prepared by the officials of the fisheries sector within the People's Army and fishing warriors were loaded onto trains and trucks and arrived in Pyongyang."
The agency stated, "This love embraced by the citizens of Pyongyang reflects the world of devoted leadership of the respected General Secretary, who ensured that the great General's love, who took heartfelt measures regarding the supply of fish to the capital's citizens even in the final period of his great life, reached the people."
It appears that General Secretary Kim's supply of fish to mark the 10th anniversary of Kim Jong-il, Chairman of the National Defense Commission, is intended to promote a legacy of 'devoted leadership' passed down through generations. It is known that the last handwritten document by Kim Jong-il before his death included plans for fish supply.
