[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The ‘Export Award’ given to Busan companies that performed well in exports this year went to SNT Motive, which overcame ‘COVID-19’ and exported more weapons and automotive parts overseas than the previous year.
Global automotive parts and small-caliber firearms manufacturer SNT Motive earned the honor of this year’s ‘Busan Export Award’ with increased export performance despite the economic crisis caused by COVID-19.
On the 20th, at the ‘2021 Busan Trade Day Award Ceremony and the 23rd Busan Export Award Ceremony’ held at the Busan Paradise Hotel, CEO Kim Hyung-cheol received the ‘Busan Export Award.’ Executive Director Kwon Hyung-soon, head of the Motor Electronics Business Division, was selected as an export meritorious person.
SNT Motive’s direct export performance recorded $313 million from July 2019 to June 2020. Then, from July 2020 to June 2021, it recorded $388 million, an increase of about 244% compared to the previous year.
In response to the growing demand for eco-friendly automotive parts, SNT Motive exported various key automotive parts, including drive units and motors for electric vehicles, to North America and other countries around the world.
Additionally, it increased supply volume by gaining recognition for the quality and price competitiveness of personal firearms such as rifles and machine guns, as well as semiconductor equipment parts.
Executive Director Kwon Hyung-soon, selected as an export meritorious person, was recognized for actively leading the Motor Electronics Business Division, diversifying overseas clients, and enhancing competitiveness in productivity, quality, and delivery, thereby expanding direct export volumes.
An SNT Motive official said, “As a global company based in Busan, we will contribute to economic revitalization by targeting the global market and raising the status of automotive parts and K-defense.”
