Pronics Collaborates with KAIST to Develop Autonomous Driving Sonar Using Resonant Ultrasound Sensors

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Gwangjin Wintec announced on the 20th that it has decided on a 100% free capital increase, allocating one new share per one existing share to enhance shareholder value.

Through the free capital increase, 16,677,159 new common shares will be newly issued, and the record date for new share allocation is January 1 of next year. The scheduled listing date for the new shares is January 20.

Gwangjin Wintec plans to return shareholder value through the free capital increase and improve liquidity by increasing the number of circulating shares. Along with the free capital increase, it also carried out a shareholder-friendly policy by providing a cash dividend of 100 KRW per share and a 10% stock dividend.

A Gwangjin Wintec official stated, "The free capital increase was decided to increase the number of issued shares to activate stock trading and enhance shareholder value," adding, "We will also do our best to establish a business diversification strategy promoted by the company to improve corporate credibility."

Gwangjin Wintec has actively begun pioneering the future car AI voice recognition market through its subsidiary Pronix. Pronix developed a voice sensor that reads incoming voice signals through a flexible piezoelectric film resonating at different frequency bands of the voice. It can recognize voices from 2 to 4 times farther distances compared to existing microphone sensors.

Pronix is collaborating with KAIST to develop new technologies related to sonar (sound wave detection) for autonomous vehicles using resonant ultrasonic sensors. The new technology being developed by Pronix is a technology that dramatically increases the measurement range of ultrasonic distance measurement sensors used in existing vehicles. Gwangjin Wintec plans to grow as a future car parts company through synergy with Pronix.
