Gangnam-gu Supports Children from Single-Parent Families through Art Challenge

Bear Balloon and Leaflet Photo Uploads Donate Snacks to Single-Parent Families... Laboum, Jung Dong-ha, and Ailee Participate

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) is hosting the ‘Gangnam Art Walking Year-End Exhibition,’ a walking tour of seven galleries in the area, until January 7 next year.

The ‘Like You Hashtag Challenge,’ which supports snacks for children from single-parent families, involves taking photos of installation artworks such as ‘Bear Balloon’ displayed throughout the district office or heart-shaped hand gestures and uploading them on SNS with the required hashtag (#GangnamArtChallenge).

After the event ends, sponsors Hosigi Two Chicken and Galleria Department Store will donate snacks to children from single-parent families based on the number of posts.

Gangnam-gu’s public ambassador, ‘Laboum,’ visited the district office on the 15th and filmed a promotional video with Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun and artist Lim Ji-bin, who created Bear Balloon. Celebrities including singer Jung Dong-ha and Ailee are also participating in the event.

Meanwhile, among the walking exhibition tour programs held on the 21st, the ‘Photo & Beauty Class’ will offer lectures on photography techniques and hairstyling. Photographer Kim Bo-ha, known for advertising and fashion editorials, and makeup artist Sumin, who has styled celebrities, are participating as talent donors to share tips on ‘How to Take Beautiful Photos with a Smartphone’ and ‘Beauty Styling in the COVID-19 Era.’ To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the program operates by advance reservation, and applications can be made on the Gangnam-gu district office website.
