MS Warns "Chinese and North Korean Hackers Exploiting 'Log4j' Security Flaw"

Microsoft (MS) has warned that hackers linked to governments such as China and North Korea are recently exploiting the controversial software security flaw 'log4j'.

According to the US CNN broadcast on the 16th, MS recently identified countries involved in these activities in a blog post, including China, North Korea, Iran, and Turkey.

The open-source logging library log4j is software adopted by the majority of internet servers worldwide. A critical vulnerability that can be exploited for hacking was recently discovered, putting the security industry on high alert.

MS did not specify who has become the target of overseas hacking groups. However, it explained that hackers are conducting experiments related to the security vulnerability.

Previously, Iranian hackers used this vulnerability to implant malicious programs into computer networks and spread ransomware that demands payment in exchange for restoring the system.
