[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) announced on the 15th that it will launch the ‘2022 AI Voucher’ support project to assist small, venture, and medium-sized enterprises aiming to adopt artificial intelligence (AI) technology in utilizing AI solutions or services.
The AI Voucher project, initiated last year as part of the Digital New Deal, aims to accelerate digital transformation for companies in need of AI technology (demand companies) through the adoption of AI solutions, and to foster competitive AI companies (supply companies). Next year, approximately 350 projects will be selected with a budget of 98 billion KRW. The project period will be about seven months, from April to October next year, and selected projects can receive up to 300 million KRW to support labor costs, solution fees, infrastructure construction costs, and more.
Companies wishing to participate must complete their applications between January 3 and 24 next year, and supply companies must pre-register in the supply company pool via email by January 14 next year to be eligible for participation. Detailed information can be found at the online project briefing session to be held at 2 p.m. on the 20th.
Ryu Jemyung, Director of AI-based Policy at MSIT, stated, “The world is entering a stage of full-scale competition to improve productivity and create new added value using AI technology,” adding, “The AI Voucher is expected to support on-site innovation efforts of demand companies needing AI technology and to provide opportunities for supply companies possessing AI technology to generate sales in new markets.”
