Gwangju Dong-gu Selected as an Excellent Autonomous District in Medical Aid Project Evaluation

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Dong-gu, Gwangju (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 14th that it was selected as an excellent autonomous district for three consecutive years in the '2021 Medical Benefits Project Evaluation' hosted by Gwangju City.

This evaluation comprehensively reviewed the 2021 medical benefits project, medical benefits case management, outpatient high-risk group medical usage performance, long-term inpatient management, and other joint evaluations by local governments, and Dong-gu was selected as an excellent autonomous district for three consecutive years.

Dong-gu conducted the 'One-person Household 365-day Safety Temperature (36.5C) Check Service' targeting new medical benefits recipients who did not use medical institutions, and actively guided medical benefits recipients with complex diseases in the high-risk group to prevent drug misuse and provide appropriate medical benefits information.

In addition, for long-term inpatients at medical benefit institutions, Dong-gu provided customized welfare services for each patient through home visits and counseling, guidance on social welfare service use via the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service mediation project, and linked those who have difficulty living independently to appropriate social welfare facilities, striving to stabilize medical benefits finances.
