On the 6th, the medical corporation Woori Children's Medical Foundation Seongbuk Woori Children's Hospital (Chairman Jeong Seong-gwan) donated 600 bags of 20kg rice (worth approximately 33 million KRW) to Seongbuk-gu to help vulnerable groups have a warm winter.

Seongbuk Woori Children's Hospital, the first children's hospital in the northeastern region of Seoul, has continuously donated money and goods to low-income vulnerable neighbors in Seongbuk-gu. In 2019, it donated 500 bags of 20kg rice, and in 2020, 340 boxes of vitamins. In July this year, it donated 15 million KRW.

This time, it delivered rice, an essential food for vulnerable groups, to support those who are having a harder time due to COVID-19 and cold weather, spreading warmth. Seongbuk-gu awarded a certificate of appreciation to Seongbuk Woori Children's Hospital for its continuous sharing activities for vulnerable groups.

Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, presented a certificate of appreciation to Chairman Jeong Seong-gwan on behalf of the medical corporation Woori Children's Medical Foundation Seongbuk Woori Children's Hospital, saying, “As the severe cold wave begins, thank you for continuously paying attention and practicing sharing for vulnerable groups who have to live even tougher lives.” He added, “The activities of Seongbuk Woori Children's Hospital will spread warm hands of kindness in the local community so that neighbors going through difficult times can have a warmer winter.”

Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) announced on the 9th that it awarded a certificate of appreciation to Purium, which contributed to improving the indoor environment of major district facilities by donating a walk-through type smart air shower to the Gangdong Youth Sports Center.

The smart IoT air shower is designed for facilities where large numbers of people enter simultaneously. When users pass through the gate, it removes indoor fine dust and deodorizes through LED sterilization technology and filters such as HEPA and carbon nanotubes. Additionally, the built-in natural phytoncide provides various effects such as sterilization and antibacterial action.

The Gangdong Youth Sports Center, a public sports facility that runs various exercise programs for children, now allows residents and children to use the facility more safely thanks to the installation of the walk-through type smart air shower.

The district is collecting and analyzing air quality data to devise improvement measures to prevent increasingly serious viruses and infectious diseases and to create a safe indoor environment from fine dust. Currently, smart IoT air showers are installed and operated in 16 facilities including the district office, and monitoring results show high user satisfaction.

Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, “We are grateful for the generous donation of the walk-through type smart air shower,” and added, “Going forward, the district plans to actively discover and apply various smart technologies to local facilities so that residents can live safely and healthily even during the COVID-19 situation, and we will build Gangdong as a people-centered smart city where many residents enjoy the benefits of advanced technology.”

Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) signed a business agreement for regional coexistence and cooperation with the Korea Social Security Information Service (Director No Dae-myung) on the 9th at the mayor’s office.

The Korea Social Security Information Service (hereafter Information Service) is an institution under the Ministry of Health and Welfare that operates a system to support local governments' welfare work by integrating and managing information on the qualifications and history of recipients of various social welfare benefits and services.

The Information Service, previously located in Chungmuro, Jung-gu, relocated to Junggok-dong last month. This agreement ceremony was arranged to promote cooperation between institutions for regional coexistence following the Information Service’s expression of willingness to support the local community along with the relocation.

The ceremony was attended by nine people including Mayor Kim Seon-gap and Director No Dae-myung, who exchanged the mutually agreed agreement documents. The main contents of the agreement include ▲scholarship support ▲welfare sponsorship support ▲promotion of local economic revitalization.

After three preliminary consultations since June, both sides will now actively promote cooperation projects such as ▲selection of local talents and scholarship support ▲customized welfare projects including support for low-income families ▲support for traditional markets and social economy enterprises.

The Information Service, which occupies floors 11 to 20 of the Health and Welfare Administration Town, employs about 800 staff members, and it is expected to contribute to revitalizing the local economy, which has been depressed due to COVID-19.

Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “Congratulations on the relocation of the Korea Social Security Information Service to Gwangjin-gu and its move into the Health and Welfare Administration Town, and thank you for the decision to support the local community,” adding, “We will work closely for regional development based on today’s agreement.”
