Samsung 'Galaxy S22' to Feature Up to 512GB Storage

Samsung 'Galaxy S22' to Feature Up to 512GB Storage

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] It is anticipated that the storage capacity of Samsung Electronics' new flagship smartphone series, the 'Galaxy S22,' expected to be released early next year, will not exceed 512GB.

On the 9th (local time), IT specialist media PhoneArena, citing IT tipster Snoopy, revealed expected memory information for the S22 series.

According to PhoneArena, the top-tier model of the S22 series, the 'Galaxy S22 Ultra,' is expected to be released in a 12GB RAM model with 128GB or 256GB storage capacity and a 16GB RAM model with 512GB capacity. The basic S22 model and the Plus model are expected to feature 8GB RAM with 128GB and 256GB storage capacities.

Although there were expectations that Samsung Electronics would also release products with terabyte-level storage capacity, following Apple's recent addition of a 1TB model to the 'iPhone 13' series, the S22 series is unlikely to include such a model. Previously, Samsung Electronics released a 1TB model with the 'Galaxy S10 Plus' in 2019.

Meanwhile, the S22 is expected to be equipped with Qualcomm's recently unveiled 'Snapdragon 8 Gen 1' and Samsung's 'Exynos 2200' as application processors (AP), with color options including Pink Gold, Green, Black, and White.

The S22 series is expected to be released in three models, similar to its predecessor: the basic model, Plus, and Ultra. The expected prices are ▲Basic $849 (approximately 1 million KRW) ▲Plus $1,049 (approximately 1.23 million KRW) ▲Ultra $1,299 (approximately 1.53 million KRW), which is expected to be over $100 higher than the previous generation.
