'Anti-Corruption Integrity' of Jeonnam Province Rises One Level to 'Grade 3' Compared to Last Year, According to the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission

[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province, which had fallen from a grade 2 in the 2019 integrity evaluation to grade 4 last year, has risen by one level this year.

On the 9th, the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission announced the results of the 'Integrity Survey' conducted on 592 public institutions including central administrative agencies, local governments, education offices, and public-related organizations.

The province received grade 2 in the external integrity survey, rising two levels from last year, but the internal integrity remained at grade 4, the same as last year.

The comprehensive integrity score is calculated by weighted averaging the external integrity (survey results) and internal integrity (survey results), then reflecting deductions for corruption incident occurrences.

In city-level evaluations, Gwangyang and Yeosu cities received grade 2, Mokpo city grade 3, Naju city grade 4, and Suncheon city the lowest grade 5.

In county-level evaluations, Gangjin, Gokseong, Damyang, Boseong, Yeonggwang, Yeongam, and Haenam counties received grade 2; Gurye, Jangseong, Hampyeong, and Hwasun counties grade 3; Muan, Sinan, and Wando grade 4; and Jangheung and Jindo counties the lowest grade 5.

Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority maintained grade 2 as last year, while Jeonnam Development Corporation failed to escape the lowest grade 5 for the second consecutive year.
