Jangseong Police Station Holds 'Child Abuse Prevention Meeting'

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong Police Station (Chief Bae Seung-gwan) announced on the 9th that it held a 'Child Abuse Prevention Meeting' together with the Jangseong-gun Daycare Center Association at the Military Women's Hall.

At the meeting, the head of the Women and Youth Division of Jangseong Police Station (Lieutenant Lee Junhak) provided training on the concept and types of child abuse, compliance requirements for mandatory reporters, and reporting procedures.

They also took time to discuss issues and countermeasures through cases of child abuse incidents committed by daycare workers.

One attendee said, "Although I usually pay attention to preventing child abuse, I will do my best to prevent it with more careful attention based on what I learned through this training and meeting."

As mandatory reporters of child abuse crimes, if they become aware of or suspect child abuse crimes during their duties, they must immediately report to the city, county, district, or investigative agencies, and failure to do so may result in a fine of up to 10 million won.

A representative of Jangseong Police Station said, "Child abuse is a serious crime targeting socially vulnerable individuals," and added, "We urge not only childcare facility workers but anyone who suspects abuse to report it to the police."
