Selected 6 Works Among 61 Winning Designs in This Year's Multi-Family Housing Design Competition Awarded
Post-Award Ceremony, Held Win-Win Cooperation Meeting with Architectural Firms and Related Industries

Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 9th that it held the ‘2021 Housing Design Awards and Win-Win Cooperation Meeting’ at Jeongdong 1928 Art Center in Jung-gu, Seoul.
At the ‘2021 Housing Design Awards,’ a ceremony was held to award the best housing design among the winning works from this year’s multi-family housing design competition. Out of 61 winning entries this year, 6 works were selected.
The Grand Prize was awarded to Hanbit Architects & Engineers Co., Ltd. for Uijeongbu Ujeong A-3BL, the Excellence Awards went to Haean Architects & Engineers Co., Ltd. and Wojae Architects & Engineers Co., Ltd. for Ansan Jangsang A1, A7BL, and Withus Architects & Engineers Co., Ltd. for Uiwang Cheonggye 2 A-1BL.
The Encouragement Awards were given to D&B Architects & Engineers Co., Ltd. for Seongnam Nakseong A-2BL, Tomun Architects & Engineers Co., Ltd. and Yeoil Architects & Engineers Co., Ltd. for Incheon Geomdan AA35-1, 2BL, and Shinhan Architects & Engineers Co., Ltd. for Cheonan Station Area.
Professor Kim Kwang-hyun of Seoul National University, who served as the head judge, said, "We can see that diversity and creativity have been reflected in recent LH public housing designs, and overall, I felt that new attempts are being made."
After the awards ceremony, LH President Kim Hyun-joon held a win-win cooperation meeting under the theme ‘With the People, With LH’ to communicate with related industries.
The meeting was attended by the National Architecture Policy Committee, architecture-related academic and professional associations (Korean Institute of Architects, Korean Institute of Registered Architects, Korean Women Architects Association, New Architects Association, Korean Architects Association), and 18 architectural firms, exchanging opinions on LH’s public housing promotion direction based on trust, fairness, and win-win cooperation.
In particular, regarding the presentation by LH on ‘Measures to Enhance Public Trust and Promote Fair Public Housing Projects,’ various opinions were raised including △building close partnerships between LH and the architecture industry △improving the design competition system △expanding R&D in the housing sector △and enhancing design quality.
President Kim said, "LH will continue to promote innovation in public housing design and improve its image that the public can feel through the Housing Design Awards," adding, "Furthermore, we will establish and cooperate through various communication channels with the government, academic and professional associations, and the private sector to lead the establishment of a fair and transparent construction culture so that LH can quickly regain public trust."
