“Citizens Are Writers”…Jeonju Citizen Publication Celebration Draws Attention

Jeonju City Wansan Library Holds Citizen Publication Commemoration Ceremony

[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City Wansan Library held a citizen publication celebration on the 3rd floor Jajakmaru of the Jajak Jajak Book Workshop on the 9th.

The publication celebration was organized to congratulate the essay writing class and picture book creation class participants of the publishing and creative program "Jeonju is Everyone a Writer," which ran from May to September, for publishing 11 books.

The essay writing class published an essay collection titled "The Joy of Writing Together," featuring writings from 8 students, while the picture book creation class published 10 picture books: Ssuksuksuk (Kim Hyeong-mi), Magic Rice Cake (Song Gyeong-ja), House Rabbit (Oh Yu-sera), Badongi (Yoon Da-jeong), Flower Fly (Lee Hee-sook), Confession (Jung Ha-young), Sanggomori (Joo Mi-ra), Shh! It's a Secret (Choi Seong-ja), Blue Poem (Pyo Hye-young), and Squid Dropped from the Sky (Han Moon-sook).

Among these, Ssuksuksuk (Kim Hyeong-mi) and Flower Fly (Lee Hee-sook) will be officially published with 1,000 copies for bookstore sales, and Squid Dropped from the Sky (Han Moon-sook) will be published with 500 copies.

Kim Seung-su, mayor of Jeonju, said, "Many citizens who participated in the one-person-one-book publishing project have achieved the result of actually publishing books," adding, "We will continue to do our best to establish a reading culture where citizens can read, write, and create books anytime and anywhere."
