Outstanding Performance at the 2021 Export Agriculture Best Practices Competition
[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Wanju County announced on the 9th that Changchang Food Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Jeong-gyu), an agricultural corporation, won the Youth Export Award at the '2021 Export Agriculture Best Practice Competition' hosted by the Rural Development Administration and the Korea Agri-Food Export Management Association.
This competition selected eight agricultural management entities nationwide as finalists in three categories (fresh agricultural products, processed agricultural products, young farmers) through the first document screening. The final winners were chosen after presentation evaluations and Q&A reviews.
CEO Park Jeong-gyu, who won the Youth Export Award, was involved with the Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration Team and served as the head instructor at JYS Taekwondo in the United States before returning to Wanju County (Yongjin-eup) following his parents.
He established a food manufacturing company in January 2020 to create added value through processing using perilla seeds and sesame cultivated by his parents. The company manufactures and sells products such as perilla oil, sesame oil, raw perilla oil (stick type), and dog snacks made from perilla meal.
In particular, the company is actively engaged in overseas exports through entry into overseas shopping malls such as Shopee (Southeast Asia), Amazon and eBay (United States), and exports via the Korean-American distributor KomaUSA in the U.S.
CEO Park said, "I knocked on the door of export based on my overseas experience, and I think this was well evaluated."
