Gwangju Seo-gu Receives Donations from Amaranth Daycare Children

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City received a donation from the children attending Amaranth Daycare Center in Sangmu 1-dong.

According to the Sangmu 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Seo-gu on the 9th, the entire proceeds of 222,500 won collected from a bazaar held the previous day, in which the children directly participated, were donated to help the underprivileged who are struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

This donation was raised by holding a bazaar at the daycare center, where the children brought unused books, stationery, clothing, and toys from their homes to sell.

Choi Hye-yeon, director of Amaranth Daycare Center, said, “I am glad that the children learned the importance of sharing through the bazaar and had an opportunity to practice love for their neighbors,” adding, “I hope the children’s small sincerity will be of some help to neighbors who are going through difficulties.”

The donated funds received that day will be used for welfare support projects for low-income vulnerable groups such as elderly living alone and single-parent families in the district through the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea.
