High School Senior Student Files Constitutional Petition Claiming "Quarantine Pass is Unconstitutional"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] A high school senior plans to file a constitutional complaint, arguing that the expanded vaccine pass and negative test confirmation system (quarantine pass), which will also apply to teenagers in places such as restaurants, cafes, and academies, is unconstitutional.

On the 9th, 18-year-old high school senior Yang Daerim and others announced that they intend to file a constitutional complaint regarding the quarantine pass on the 10th.

Their legal representative stated, "(The quarantine pass) effectively forces vaccination on the general public, including teenagers, amid growing doubts about the vaccine's effectiveness and safety," adding, "It is clearly unconstitutional."

The petitioners argued, "Without vaccination, access to academies and study rooms is restricted, infringing even on basic learning rights," and claimed, "Forcing vaccination is an act of violence by the state." They also added, "If people still have to worry about infection even after vaccination and are concerned about side effects, the freedom for each individual to choose whether to get vaccinated must naturally be guaranteed."

Furthermore, they stated that they plan to file a criminal complaint with the prosecution against President Moon Jae-in and Director Jeong Eun-kyung of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency for abuse of authority and obstruction of rights.
