Wattpad Webtoon Studio Targets Global MZ Generation... Partners with US VIS

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Naver Webtoon and Wattpad's integrated video studio, 'Wattpad Webtoon Studio,' announced on the 9th that it has signed a content production partnership with the U.S. 'Viacom CBS International Studios (VIS)'.

This partnership is Wattpad Webtoon Studio's first global partnership. Currently, Wattpad Webtoon Studio is working on about 100 video adaptation projects worldwide.

The two companies plan to jointly produce video series based on Naver Webtoon and Wattpad intellectual property (IP) to target the MZ generation. They also plan to distribute these through ViacomCBS's various networks.

VIS is a studio corporation that produces content for ViacomCBS brands' platforms such as the OTT platform Paramount+, Nickelodeon, and MTV. It provides original, co-produced, and local production content and services to major content operators worldwide. VIS's parent company, ViacomCBS, is a global media company that owns CBS, one of the three major terrestrial TV networks in the U.S., and the film production company Paramount Pictures.

Aron Levitz, head of Wattpad Webtoon Studio, said, "Based on this collaboration with VIS, Wattpad Webtoon Studio will supply more diverse and original stories worldwide," adding, "We are very excited to work with VIS, who shares the same vision."
