Volvo FH Tractor, Audi A8 60 and 4,282 Units Recalled for Manufacturing Defects (Data provided by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport)

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 9th that Volvo Trucks Korea, Stellantis Korea, Audi Volkswagen Korea, FMK, and Honda Korea will voluntarily recall 4,282 vehicles across 10 models imported and sold due to manufacturing defects.

Among them, 3,095 units of 2 models including the Volvo Trucks Korea FH tractor were found to have a safety standard non-compliance issue caused by a software setting error in the variable axle control, which delayed the automatic lowering of the variable axle. The Ministry plans to impose fines later considering the correction rate. These vehicles can be repaired free of charge at official service centers starting from the 10th.

Stellantis Korea’s Jeep Grand Cherokee L, totaling 689 units (including pre-sale vehicles), was found to have a possibility of occupant injury due to the airbag not deploying in the event of a collision caused by a software setting error in the airbag control device. Free repairs will be available at Stellantis Korea’s official service centers starting from the 13th.

Audi Volkswagen Korea’s A8 60 TFSI LWB qu., 134 units (including pre-sale vehicles), was found to have a software setting error in the advanced driver assistance system, causing the rear camera off function to be active when the gear shift is in reverse. This is a safety standard non-compliance issue, and the importer will first conduct a voluntary recall, with fines to be imposed later considering the correction rate. These vehicles have been receiving free repairs at official service centers since the 7th.

FMK’s Maserati Levante Trofeo and 3 other models, totaling 36 units (including pre-sale vehicles), were found to have a risk of fire due to fuel leakage caused by damage to the temperature and pressure sensor case inside the fuel hose, which lacks durability. Parts replacement is being provided free of charge at official service centers since the 6th.
