‘A New Breeze in Leisure Culture’... Rising Expectations Among Gunmin
[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] It was reported on the 8th that the Boseong-gun (Governor Kim Cheol-woo) Complex Community Center in Jeollanam-do is expected to begin construction in February next year.
Boseong-gun is currently proceeding with a construction contract request to the Public Procurement Service this month.
The Boseong-gun Complex Community Center construction project aims to bring a fresh breeze to the leisure culture of the residents by investing a total project cost of 41 billion KRW. It will be built on the site of Boseong-ri 824-6, Boseong-eup, with 2 basement floors and 6 above-ground floors, covering a total floor area of 15,777㎡. Construction will start in February next year and is scheduled to be completed by January 2024.
The first and second basement floors will provide parking spaces for about 200 vehicles and house mechanical and electrical rooms. The above-ground floors are planned to include the council building, complex leisure facility building, Harmony Plaza, a small park, and parking spaces for about 30 vehicles.
The building will be divided into two structures: the council building (3 floors) and the complex leisure facility building (6 floors). The two buildings are designed to be connected on the third floor by a sky deck called Haneulmaru.
The first floor of the council building will house the main council chamber and a permanent exhibition hall; the second floor will contain council members' offices and other facilities of the Boseong County Council; and the third floor will accommodate the Dream Start Center.
The first floor of the complex leisure facility building will feature a lobby connected to a small library; the second floor will include a family center with a kids caf? and shared childcare space, as well as a shared kitchen; the third floor will have a floor space and club rooms; the fourth floor will contain an audiovisual room, classrooms, meeting rooms, and offices; the fifth floor will have a roller rink and VR sports facilities; the sixth floor will feature a bowling alley with 14 lanes; and the rooftop will be developed as a theme park.
In particular, to strengthen communication among residents disrupted by COVID-19, various plazas and small parks will be created within the site to enable local festivals and various outdoor events.
Among the leisure facilities, the bowling alley, roller rink, and VR sports facilities were selected through a resident preference survey conducted last February and are expected to bring a fresh breeze to the leisure culture of the residents.
Meanwhile, demolition work on four existing buildings within the planned site of the Complex Community Center, including the 119 Safety Center, Women's Hall, and the old Seongan Wedding Hall, began last month. The demolition has been completed, and the separation and removal of waste by type are currently underway, with plans to finish by the end of this month.
A county official said, “We will bring a fresh breeze to the daily life and leisure activities of the residents through smooth project implementation.”
