Held on the 16th with the theme 'AI and Digital Transformation for a Better Future'
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The Presidential Committee on the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4th IR Committee) announced on the 8th that it will hold the ‘2021 4th Industrial Revolution Global Policy Conference’ both online and offline at the Grand Ballroom of the Four Seasons Hotel in Seoul on the 16th.
This event will feature over 30 speakers including domestic and international scholars, officials from international organizations and governments, and startup representatives, who will share trends in the international community and response strategies of major countries on how they are preparing for the AI era and digital transformation accelerated by COVID-19.
The conference will begin with an opening address by Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum and congratulatory remarks by Lee Won-wook, Chair of the Science, Technology, Information and Broadcasting Communications Committee, followed by keynote speeches, special talks, and three breakout sessions.
In the keynote speeches, under the theme “Everything for a Better Future,” Seoul National University President Oh Se-jung, Robert Atkinson, President of the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) in the U.S., Ulrik Knudsen, Deputy Secretary-General of the OECD, and Margrethe Vestager, EU Executive Vice President, will deliver lectures in sequence.
In the special talk session titled “Digital Transformation 2025 ? Strategies for Successful Digital Transformation,” visions and philosophies regarding AI- and data-based digital transformation and social innovation from major political parties will be presented. Following this, Chairman Yoon Sung-ro will discuss with Kwon Ho-yeol, President of the Korea Information Society Development Institute, Moon Yong-sik, President of the National Information Society Agency, and Jeon Seong-bae, President of the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation, evaluating the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on our society and the urgent challenges to be addressed.
The main sessions will include presentations and discussions on the themes: ▲ Meeting with Startups ? Challenges and Global Expansion Strategies of Young Venture CEOs Recognized Abroad First ▲ Humans and Artificial Intelligence ? AI Policies for Coexistence with Humans and Global Cooperation ▲ Future Technologies Saving the Earth 2050 ? Humanity’s Response to Climate Crisis and Infectious Diseases.
