Hamyang-gun Holds 'Joint Memorial Ceremony for Freedom Defense Victims'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 8th that it held the '24th Joint Memorial Ceremony for the Victims of the Defense of Freedom' with the participation of about 50 people including County Governor Seo Chun-su, County Council Chairman Hwang Tae-jin, bereaved families, veterans, and members of the Korea Freedom Federation.

The memorial ceremony was solemnly conducted in the order of the national ceremony, progress report, memorial address, condolence speech, poetry and song, and flower offering and incense burning.

County Governor Seo Chun-su said in his condolence speech, "I deeply thank those who sacrificed to protect liberal democracy, and without the sacrifice of the patriotic spirits, neither the current Republic of Korea nor Hamyang-gun would exist," adding, "We must deeply engrave the painful history in our hearts and make our best efforts in our respective positions."
