Gwangju Seo-gu Holds Report Meeting on 'AI Intelligent Integrated Platform Construction'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 8th that it held a kickoff briefing for the AI Intelligent Integrated Platform construction project.

The ‘AI Intelligent Integrated Platform’ is a project to build an integrated management system that allows a comprehensive view of care services segmented by recipients and services, and to link appropriate welfare services to care recipients by applying AI technology to the integrated data.

Seo-gu was finally selected in June for the ‘2021 Ministry of the Interior and Safety Local Government Collaboration Special Grant Support Project’ and secured a special grant of 200 million KRW to promote this project.

In the situation where face-to-face service provision is difficult due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the non-face-to-face care service using AI was started with the principle that ‘care must not stop under any circumstances’ to minimize care gaps.

Currently, a total of 13 services are being implemented across 5 departments.

However, care services promoted by each department and system face issues such as difficulty in data sharing and recipient verification, leading to problems like duplicate benefits.

To solve these problems, Seo-gu aims to develop by the first half of next year an integrated AI care system linking each AI care system based on data from the independently developed and used mobile case management app ‘Haengbok Manager’.

Amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, Seo-gu’s proactive efforts to resolve care gaps through various attempts highlight the growing importance of AI care services.
