[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hye-young] Hyundai Doosan Infracore announced on the 8th that it has launched a 10-ton class bulldozer as its first new product since joining the Hyundai Heavy Industries Group.

The bulldozer was first unveiled at a dealer meeting held recently in Arizona, USA. Hyundai Doosan Infracore stated that at the event attended by 120 dealer companies, they secured pre-orders for over 100 units. Starting next year, Hyundai Doosan Infracore plans to begin production of the bulldozer order volume at its Gunsan plant and deliver them to dealers by the third quarter.

The 10-ton class bulldozer introduced by Hyundai Doosan Infracore features an engine output approximately 16% higher than competing products and is equipped with a rearview camera that allows rear visibility, providing a wide field of view. The company explained that the bulldozer is equipped with a 3D-based automatic blade control system, which enhances the accuracy of leveling work, a core function of bulldozers, and improves productivity and fuel efficiency by reducing redundant work.

Hyundai Doosan Infracore plans to focus on the North American market, where bulldozer demand is high.

According to Off-Highway Research, a UK-based construction machinery research institute, global bulldozer sales reached 22,847 units last year, with 8,275 units sold in the North American market. This means that North America accounted for 36% of global demand. Worldwide bulldozer sales have been increasing annually and are estimated to rise by 21% from 2020 to 27,728 units by 2025.

A Hyundai Doosan Infracore official said, “With the launch of this bulldozer, we expect to enhance our brand image in the North American market through diversification of our product lineup including excavators and wheel loaders, leading to increased sales. Major domestic construction companies are also showing great interest, and in the mid to long term, we plan to compete with global top-tier companies by selling customized bulldozers to emerging markets and Europe.”
