Won Hee-ryong: "Lee Jae-myung, who uses bilingualism, is a fraud, not a president"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] Won Heeryong, head of policy at the People Power Party's election campaign committee, strongly criticized Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, saying he is "using double language" and "a fraud, not a president."

On the 8th, Won said on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show,' "A national leader should not use double language."

He pointed out, "(Candidate Lee) says 'Respected President Park Geun-hye,' but then says, 'Would I really respect her? What is there to respect?' After declaring he would implement both the land holding tax and basic income, he says he won't if the public opposes it. So, it's unclear whether he will or won't do it; he is using double language."

He continued, "When transforming, one must sincerely reflect and explain the basis to the public. Transformations without explanations and double language like a fraud, trying to win debates with wordplay?our people are not at that level," he sharply criticized.

He added, "(Candidate Lee) says he will crush us in debates, but if he throws a tantrum out of arrogance, we say thank you. Candidate Yoon Seok-youl is not as sloppy or slow to learn as Lee mocks him," he said.

He also said, "Candidate Yoon has formed a complete team with Kim Jong-in's support for the underprivileged, Lee Jun-seok's youth-centered approach, and Won Heeryong's policy backing," emphasizing, "This is not the past Yoon Seok-youl running alone, but Yoon as a one team with Kim Jong-in, Lee Jun-seok, and Won Heeryong."

Earlier, on the 3rd, Candidate Lee sparked controversy in Jeonju, Jeonbuk, by saying, "Our respected former President Park Geun-hye went to Daegu Seomun Market when she was having a hard time during her presidency, didn't she?"

On the 7th, Candidate Lee explained, "People thought I really respected (former President Park). Words have context, and ignoring the context is the real problem. Some say I pretend to respect her to gain votes, but that is not true at all. It underestimates the collective intelligence of our people," he clarified.
