Lexus Korea Launches 'Lexus Smart Drive' Contactless Vehicle Test Drive Service

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Lexus Korea announced on the 8th that it will first implement the 'Lexus Smart Drive' service, which allows customers to test drive vehicles non-face-to-face, at the Lexus Gangseo Test Drive Center.

The newly launched Lexus Smart Drive service enables customers to experience vehicles non-face-to-face using smart devices from test drive application to vehicle return, ensuring customer safety and convenience in the With-Corona era.

Customers wishing to test drive can receive an explanation of the Lexus Smart Drive procedure through non-face-to-face video consultation with professional sales consultants at a dedicated consultation booth set up within the center. After receiving a smart device equipped with a digital key, they can test drive the vehicle and receive real-time consultation services related to the vehicle.

The Lexus Smart Driving service is offered only for certain models, including Lexus's best-selling model ES and premium hybrid sport utility vehicles (SUVs) such as the RX and UX. This service will start at the Gangseo Test Drive Center and is planned to expand to the Anyang Test Drive Center in the first half of next year.

Byung-jin Lee, Executive Director of Lexus Korea, said, "Lexus Smart Drive is a test drive service prepared to minimize concerns about face-to-face contact so that customers can safely test drive Lexus vehicles." He added, "We especially expect many customers from the MZ generation, who are familiar with non-face-to-face and untact culture through smart devices, to use this service."
