1141 New COVID-19 Cases in Seoul by 6 PM... Highest Number at Same Time

[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Seoul city announced that the number of new COVID-19 confirmed cases in Seoul was tentatively counted at 1,141 during the 18 hours from midnight to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, the 7th.

This is the highest number ever recorded for the same time period. It is 56 more than the previous record of 1,085 cases on the 23rd of last month.

It is 291 more than the 850 cases during the same time period on the previous day (the 6th) and 61 more than the 1,080 cases a week ago (November 30). The total number of confirmed cases for the entire day was 2,120 on the 6th and 2,222 on November 30.

The daily number of confirmed cases in Seoul set five consecutive records since the phased recovery to normal life (With Corona) was implemented last month: 1,436 on the 16th, 1,734 on the 23rd, 1,760 on the 24th, 1,888 on the 26th, and 2,222 on the 30th. This month, the upward trend continued with two new records in the first week alone: 2,267 on the 1st and 2,273 on the 3rd.

As of 6 p.m. on the 7th, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Seoul was tentatively counted at 169,846. The final tally of total confirmed cases for the day will be compiled as of midnight on the 8th and announced in the morning.
