Jeonju City and Jeonju University Integrate Ticketing and Boarding at Intercity Bus Stop

New Intercity Bus Stop Installed at the Back Gate of Jeonju University

[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] The Jeonju University intercity bus stop, which had been criticized for inconvenience due to the separation of the ticket office and boarding area, has been transformed into a simple bus stop where ticketing and boarding can be done together.

Jeonju City announced on the 7th that it invested a total project cost of 55 million KRW to newly install an intercity bus stop at the back gate of Jeonju University.

In the case of the existing Jeonju University simple bus stop, the ticket office was located inside the Jeonju University building, and the boarding area was located across the school route, raising concerns about traffic accidents among users. Additionally, since there was no heating or cooling, users waiting for the bus had raised complaints.

Accordingly, Jeonju City held consultations with Jeonju University and the intercity bus terminal operator regarding the installation, location provision, and post-management of the simple bus stop, and installed a simple bus stop equipped with a safe and comfortable waiting area.

The simple bus stop is equipped with one heating and cooling unit and two heated chairs for convenience, and two unmanned ticket vending machines have been installed so that ticketing and boarding can be done together.

Meanwhile, at the Jeonju University simple bus stop, intercity buses run 12 round trips daily between Jeonju University and Seoul Nambu Terminal with a dispatch interval of 1 hour and 10 minutes. Currently, about 200 to 300 people use it daily.
