[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Jeonnam Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 7th that it signed a business agreement with the Korea Forest Academy (Chairman Ahn Jin-chan) in the small conference room of the county office to support forest resource utilization and forestry development.
At the signing ceremony, the county and the Korea Forest Academy agreed to implement seven items including ▲ fostering forest resources through new technology and information exchange ▲ cultivating competitive forest products ▲ consulting and promotional cooperation related to the production and distribution of excellent forest products ▲ support for education and training resources for nurturing forestry managers.
The county expects that this agreement will help increase local residents' income and revitalize the local economy through the development of competitive forestry.
Ahn Jin-chan, chairman of the Korea Forest Academy, said, “The county has many first-generation forestry workers and abundant tourism resources,” and added, “Through collaboration, we hope to train forest experts and create income generation models that will contribute to the development of both the county and the academy.”
Governor Gu Chung-gon said, “More than 73% of the county's area is forest,” and added, “We will spare no interest and support for forest resource utilization and forestry development to respond to the new era values of climate change and carbon neutrality.”
He continued, “We ask for much help in fostering forest income and nurturing talent for the second forest renaissance.”
The Korea Forest Academy is a private-led forestry CEO educational institution that has produced about 1,000 forestry CEOs, including forestry managers and those hoping to return to farming or rural areas, since its foundation in 2010.
