Recruitment of the 6th Operator for 'Yeosu Night Sea Romantic Pocha'

[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Sim Kyung-taek] Jeonnam Yeosu City is recruiting the 6th term operators to manage the iconic Romantic Pocha of Yeosu Night Sea in a substantial way.

According to the city, applications will be accepted on the 16th at Yeosu Culture Hall.

Eligibility for operating Romantic Pocha requires continuous resident registration in Yeosu City for more than 6 months, no business registration, and only one application per immediate family member.

The total number of recruits is 18, divided by category: 5 general citizens, 7 youth, 3 nearby residents, and 3 others (low-income class, disabled, multicultural/North Korean defectors).

Notably, unlike last year, income criteria have been additionally applied to improve the quality of life for marginalized groups and expand opportunities for low-income groups, with differential scoring based on health insurance premium payments.

For fair and objective evaluation, the city plans to select 54 candidates, three times the number of recruits per category, through the first document screening, and then select the final 18 through the second food tasting event.

The final 18 selected will participate in various hospitality training and then operate the Romantic Pocha for one year starting from February next year.

Since its operation began in 2016, Yeosu Night Sea Romantic Pocha has become a differentiated tourism brand from other local governments and is very popular among tourists visiting Yeosu.

A city official said, “As our city’s representative tourism content and a nationwide Hot-Place, we look forward to the active participation of operators who will lead Romantic Pocha with excellent taste and friendly service.”
