Haenam-gun Selected as an Excellent Institution in Jeonnam Province Landscape Administration Evaluation

Honored with 3 Consecutive Years of Awards in Landscape Following 5 Consecutive Years in Public Design Field

[Haenam＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, was selected as an excellent institution in the 2021 Landscape Administration Evaluation hosted by Jeollanam-do.

According to the county on the 7th, the landscape administration evaluation was conducted through a comprehensive evaluation including on-site inspections targeting six cities and counties that passed the first document screening among 22 cities and counties in the province.

In particular, Haenam-gun achieved the distinction of being selected as an excellent institution for three consecutive years in the landscape administration evaluation, following its five consecutive years of winning the Eco-friendly Design Award in the public design field last October.

Haenam-gun laid the foundation for landscape improvement by establishing a basic plan for landscape and public design and enacting landscape ordinances, while operating the Good Landscape Creation Promotion Team effectively to raise residents' interest in the landscape.

Also, the Woosuyeong Tourist Site Skywalk, which was the subject of this evaluation, received high marks for minimizing damage to the natural landscape and harmonizing well with the surroundings.

The Woosuyeong Tourist Site, where the skywalk is located, was also recognized for creating a beautiful landscape in harmony with the surrounding natural conditions such as Uldolmok.

Haenam-gun plans to establish guidelines and standard designs for future competitive landscapes and public designs and to formulate distinctive landscape plans.

Based on this, it will do its best to preserve and manage the region's excellent natural and rural landscapes and create a beautiful and pleasant natural environment to improve the quality of life for its residents.
