[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 7th that a budget of 547.6 billion KRW from the government and Jeollanam-do for 2022 has been reflected.
The Honam High-Speed Railway Phase 2 project, the steep slope collapse risk area maintenance project around the Namak Small and Medium Business Promotion Agency, and the expansion project of the Illo Public Sewage Treatment Plant were finally increased and additionally reflected during the National Assembly Budget and Accounts Committee process.
Among the major projects reflected in next year's government budget, in the SOC project sector, the Muan National Road No. 77 (Hyeongyeong Masan∼Haeje Songseok) road facility improvement project (43.9 billion KRW), the opening of the access road to the aviation-specialized industrial complex (2 billion KRW), the Muan International Airport runway extension project (17.6 billion KRW), and the Muan International Airport integrated dormitory construction project (1 billion KRW) budgets were reflected as originally planned. The Honam High-Speed Railway Phase 2 project was increased by 40.8 billion KRW to 302.5 billion KRW, providing great momentum for Muan International Airport to leap forward as a southwestern hub airport through runway extension and improved accessibility.
As new projects in the agriculture and fisheries sector, the 2022 Fishing Village New Deal 300 (1.3 billion KRW), passenger ship port development project (680 million KRW), vegetable shipment control facility support project (1.4 billion KRW), livestock odor improvement support project (600 million KRW), eco-friendly agriculture foundation construction project (1 billion KRW), agricultural machinery rental office installation and integrated mechanization project in main production areas (2 billion KRW) were included.
In the forestry and park sector, the Namak railway-side fine dust blocking forest creation project (1.5 billion KRW), the barrier-free sharing path creation project in the Healing Forest (900 million KRW), the ecological restoration project of the southwestern coastal island forests (500 million KRW), and the living-close forest (outdoor garden) creation project (500 million KRW) were reflected.
In the environmental sector, the Changpoho non-point pollution reduction project (200 million KRW), Illo Public Sewage Treatment Plant expansion project (500 million KRW), Muan-eup sewage pipeline maintenance project (300 million KRW), and Mangun Mokdong sewage priority management area flood prevention project (500 million KRW) were included.
Additionally, as balanced national and local transition projects, ten new projects including the Topmori Beach tourist attraction creation project (200 million KRW) and the Modunuri Forest Trail (trekking trail) creation project (200 million KRW) were newly reflected, expected to bring a fresh breeze to Muan's development.
Governor Kim San stated, “A considerable amount of budget has been secured for the promotion of major priority projects and current issues, providing the driving force for Muan's development next year. Based on this, we will concentrate all administrative power to firmly lay the foundation for Muan's centennial plan.”
