[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Dong-gu, Gwangju (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 7th that it held a 'Visiting Career Talk Show' for adolescents who are having difficulties in school life such as classes due to COVID-19.

The 'Visiting Career Talk Show' was conducted in the form of a talk show by inviting popular occupational groups directly to schools based on the results of a preliminary career preference survey conducted for students last October.

This talk show was organized as a Q&A session where 35 elementary school students attended and asked questions directly to experts from popular occupational groups they wanted to meet, including ▲athletes ▲announcers ▲webtoon artists ▲YouTubers ▲dancers.

The career talk show, one of the child participation policies promoted based on a proposal from the Dong-gu Children and Youth Participation Committee last year, started with Salesio Girls' Middle School in November and this is the second time.

In particular, unlike typical career experiences, it is held based on a survey of occupational groups that children want, so it is receiving high responses from students.

The career talk show mentors included ▲Shin Jo-han (YouTuber) ▲Park Ji-woong (former baseball player) ▲Kim Sung-in (Show Me The Money 4 Song Min-ho Money Flow dancer) ▲Jung Se-yoon (CMB bowling tournament announcer) ▲Kim Jung-woo (webtoon artist).

A student who participated in the program said, "It was a precious time to listen directly to the lectures of people working in fields I am interested in, whom I usually only see on broadcasts," adding, "Through actual experiences in the workplace, it was an opportunity to think about the career I dream of."

A Dong-gu official said, "In an era where the occupational groups children like change frequently, I hope this time allowed them to realistically approach their careers through the mentors' lectures," and added, "We will create a child-friendly city Dong-gu that supports and encourages children, where children actively participate in district administration and propose policies."
