[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] The Gwangju Ipseok Rotary Club (President Choi Young-gil) recently donated winter blankets worth 2 million won through the Sangmu 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Seo-gu, and delivered them to low-income vulnerable households, practicing warm neighborly love and becoming a topic of conversation.
According to Seo-gu on the 7th, this blanket donation and delivery ceremony was prepared by the Ipseok Rotary Club with the hope that neighbors experiencing economic difficulties during the winter season would have a warm winter.
The Sangmu 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center handed over the donated blankets to 30 low-income vulnerable households in the district, conveying comfort and encouragement.
Choi Young-gil, president of the Gwangju Ipseok Rotary Club, said, “In the prolonged situation of COVID-19, I hope that this small act of warm sharing reaches low-income families who are having a hard time,” and added, “I hope Sangmu 1-dong becomes a place where all residents are happy.”
Following this, Ryu Seon-seok, head of Sangmu 1-dong, said, “Just as the saying goes, the darker the night, the closer the dawn, although it is a cold winter now, this sharing event felt like the warmth of the coming spring.”
