[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Kim Dong-yeon, the preparatory committee chairman of the New Wave party, selected the first and second recruited talents as ‘Artificial Intelligence (AI) Avatars’.

On the 7th, Chairman Kim held a press conference at the National Assembly and introduced the AI spokesperson ‘aidy’ and AI avatar ‘windy’ as the first and second talents. Aidy, who appears as a young man, stated in a demonstration video, "Recruiting talents with one-time symbols or gossip scandals is now just a boring showy political performance," and added, "Chairman Kim is attempting to recruit talents suitable for the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the digital era." Windy, modeled after Chairman Kim, said, "I will share Chairman Kim’s philosophy and vision."

Chairman Kim’s side plans to assign roles such as commentary and Q&A to the AI spokesperson. Chairman Kim explained, "Korean politics has long become a burden to the people by pouring in astronomical amounts of money. Aidy is an attempt to drastically reduce existing election costs."

Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party’s presidential candidate who launched his election campaign committee the day before, also introduced ‘AI Yoon Seok-yeol.’ AI Yoon Seok-yeol, appearing exactly like candidate Yoon, said, "It symbolizes the new future and challenges that candidate Yoon will open for Korea. It is also the beginning of election innovation."
