Gwangyang City Wins 'Best Award' at Individual Official Land Price Research Project Presentation Contest

Study on Measures to Improve the Realization Rate of Individual Official Land Prices, Awarded for 3 Consecutive Years Since 2019

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 7th that it won the grand prize at the ‘2021 Individual Official Land Price Research Project Presentation Contest’ hosted by Jeollanam-do, achieving the remarkable feat of winning awards in the individual official land price category for three consecutive years.

On the 2nd, at the presentation contest held non-face-to-face in the city’s video conference room, the city attracted great attention from participants by presenting on the topic of ‘Improvement of the Individual Official Land Price System and Measures to Enhance Realization Rate’ in line with the government’s ‘Realistic Adjustment Plan for Publicly Announced Real Estate Prices.’

Selected as an excellent project, Gwangyang City researched improvement measures regarding the investigation of land characteristics, which form the basis for calculating individual official land prices, methods to align characteristics among individual real estates, and ways to enhance the realization rate of publicly announced prices, proposing measures to maintain price balance and ensure appropriateness.

This presentation contest was held to promote work exchange among cities and counties within the province and to enhance the expertise of responsible public officials. Through presentations on research projects related to individual official land prices and special lectures by certified appraisers, discussions were held on ways to improve work efficiency, shortcomings of the system, and improvement measures.

Kim Chi-gon, head of the Civil Complaints and Cadastral Division, said, “Individual official land prices are used as the basis for imposing various taxes and charges, and I am proud that the city’s efforts to ensure the appropriateness of individual official land prices have been well evaluated,” adding, “We will continue to take the lead in securing objectivity in individual official land prices.”
