[Asia Economy Reporter Ji-hwan Park] Samsung Securities announced on the 7th that it will hold an event supporting up to $12 on the simple investment app 'Oneul-ui Tuja (O2)' in line with the launch of fractional share trading service for overseas stocks.
When opening a new account for the first time on O2 and applying for the event, a 'Welcome Trading Support Fund' of $10 is provided. Additionally, among customers who apply for the event after placing an order for fractional shares, the first 150,000 people will receive $2 in support as part of the event.
Samsung Securities has applied the fractional trading service for overseas stocks on O2 since the 29th of last month and is currently providing the service. It plans to apply the service to the mobile app 'mPOP' and HTS in the first quarter of next year. A Samsung Securities official said, "Many U.S. stocks exceed 1 million KRW per share. Through fractional trading, the burden of purchasing high-priced stocks is reduced, which is expected to expand the investment experience of 'Seohak Gaemi' (Korean investors in U.S. stocks)."
Samsung Securities is also running the 'Overseas Stocks with $100' event, supporting up to $100 for customers who have no experience trading overseas stocks, until the 31st of this month.
