CBI to Collaborate with Entrance on Metaverse Game Development... "Aiming for Korean Version of Roblox"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] CBI, the partner company developing Cyworld's NFT (Non-Fungible Token) and Dotori game, is making a full-scale entry into the metaverse business by partnering with a game developer.

On the 7th, CBI announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Entruns for the joint development of social network games and board games.

Through this MOU, CBI plans to promote technology cooperation, business collaboration, promotion, and marketing for metaverse game development and domestic activation based on active cooperation with Entruns.

Founded in 2019, Entruns was established by CEO Byungsoo Kim, who developed the mobile MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) 'Aden.' The company includes developers with over 10 years of experience who have developed numerous games such as Viking Island (SNG), School 2015 (SNG), 'Lineage 2 Revolution,' and 'Summoner's War.'

CBI plans to develop games that the main user base of Cyworld, people in their 20s to 40s, can enjoy within the metaverse platform. The goal is to incorporate the fun of 2D arcade games popular in the 80s and 90s into the metaverse platform.

Additionally, they are considering developing casual slot games that include elements of SNG (Social Network Games) and RPG (Role-Playing Games). Through social casino games, users will be able to earn Dotori and use them within the metaverse platform.

A company official explained, "Cyworld's main user base has a retro sensibility and high purchasing power, and we aim to develop various games that can revive childhood memories and attract new users. Since adults have a high demand for simple card or casual games, we plan to launch games in various genres, not only P2E games, to grow Cyworld into the Korean version of Roblox."
