[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, expressed his affection by saying, "I would live with my spouse Kim Hye-kyung even if I were born again."
On the 6th, Lee appeared on MBC's 'The Side Story of the Side Story' and said, "Recently, I have been thinking that I would marry this woman again even if I were born again."
He continued, "The shocking thing is that my spouse does not seem to have that intention," and laughed, saying, "Right now, my spouse is contemplating whether to marry me again."

He added, "(My spouse) has been through a lot because of me. While working as a human rights lawyer, I had no income and had to live in a rented place. Just a few months after we started dating, I asked to borrow 3 million won from her, and she even suspected I was a scammer," he said. "I finished work at 2 a.m. every day and couldn't properly go home. It was even worse when I was involved in civic movements. Sometimes I was arrested and on the run. There were also threatening calls about what to do with the children, so (my spouse) must have had a really hard time," he said.
Lee also said, "I don't want to believe it, but according to my spouse, there were men lined up for her," adding, "I fell in love at first sight and proposed marriage after four days. But she didn't give me an answer. I felt like I would die without her."
He continued, "So I gambled. I gave her a diary that contained the message, 'This is the kind of person I am,'" he said. "In the end, that gamble worked, and because of that, she understood and decided to marry me," he added.
Meanwhile, Lee has been actively appearing with his spouse Kim at election campaign events, seemingly conscious of rumors about 'marital quarrels' that arose after Kim's fall accident. Starting with watching the Korean Series together on the 18th of last month, Lee and Kim wrapped up the Jeonbuk 'Maetabus' (weekly livelihood bus) schedule yesterday (the 5th).
