[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Federation of Micro Enterprise Associations and the Community Chest of Korea are launching a support fund for small business owners affected by COVID-19 through a designated donation from Persys.
This project was made possible by a donation from Persys, a specialized office furniture brand and the 100th member of the Community Chest of Korea's Sharing Excellence Companies.
The Federation plans to accept online applications and document submissions via its website starting January next year. After screening, 900 small business sites will be selected to receive 500,000 KRW each as part of the Hope Recovery Fund support project.
Since last year, the Federation and the Community Chest of Korea have been carrying out various support activities to help small business owners overcome management crises, including COVID-19 prevention support, workplace maintenance, and livelihood stabilization funds.
Oh Se-hee, president of the Federation, stated, "It is valuable for companies to participate in helping small business owners struggling to survive due to COVID-19, as it enhances the value of win-win management," urging corporate participation.
