Dongmyung University to Hold 'FunFun Day' Welcome Event for Prospective Students of Newly Established Doing College Next Year

Dongmyung University held the "Joyful Challenge! FunFun Day" on the 4th for students applying early to the Doing College on campus.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Trainee Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Dongmyung University held a mentoring orientation event for students applying early admission to the newly established Do-ing College next year. The event, titled ‘Joyful Challenge! Ppeonppeon (FunFun) Day,’ took place on the 4th.

Do-ing College is a 3-no (無) university. It pursues a practical (Do-ing) education method without ‘grades,’ ‘credits,’ or ‘teaching.’

The event, including busking team performances, impromptu quizzes, and prize giveaways, was broadcast live on YouTube. About 50 prospective freshmen participated either in person or via ZOOM and Metaverse.

Professor Mentor Kim Se-yoon of Do-ing College presented in a talk show on topics such as ▲Is entrepreneurship only about making a lot of money? ▲Can entrepreneurship be done anytime if you have money?

Professor Mentor Lee Seung-heon explained K-content using examples like the global YouTube viewership record of ‘Baby Shark.’

A prospective freshman who attended said, “I will now prepare to joyfully and happily do what I want at Do-ing College.”

President Jeon Ho-hwan defined Do-ing College as “an experiential university that fosters entrepreneurial spirit, such as the ability to get back up after falling.”

President Jeon also introduced plans to send up to 20 students annually to the Kim Woo-joong Academy and jointly operate a related separate program with the Daewoo World Management Research Association, as well as the ‘Global Do-ing’ plan where enrolled students participate in a Eurasian crossing for about two months.

Dean Seo Jong-su of Do-ing College said, “I hope all participating freshmen will enjoy a joyful and challenging college life as the leader group of the newly born Do-ing College together with the professors.”
