[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] The Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee announced on the 6th that it donated two 'The New EQA' vehicles to the Korea Ronald McDonald House Foundation to support the safe transportation of pediatric patients undergoing long-term outpatient treatment.

Through screening by the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee and the Children and Future Foundation, the Korea Ronald McDonald House was selected as the beneficiary institution and will receive two Mercedes-Benz pure electric vehicles, The New EQA, along with coverage for automobile insurance, consumable replacements, regular inspections, and other related expenses.

Since 2016, the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee, in partnership with the Children and Future Foundation, has been supporting vehicles to social welfare institutions nationwide to improve medical accessibility and mobility for people with disabilities and children, as well as to expand social and cultural activities.

In April, approximately 500 million KRW worth of support was provided, including one C 200 AMG Line vehicle and three years of automobile insurance for each of eight social welfare institutions and facilities. To date this year, a total of 34 Mercedes-Benz vehicles have been donated to 33 social welfare institutions nationwide.

The delivery ceremony was recently held at Korea’s first Ronald McDonald House located at Yangsan Busan National University Hospital in Yangsan, Gyeongnam Province, attended by Thomas Klein, President of Mercedes-Benz Korea and Chairman of the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee; Jeffrey Jones, Chairman of the Korea Ronald McDonald House; and Kim Byung-gi, Director of the Children and Future Foundation, among other officials.

Chairman Thomas Klein stated, "As a responsible corporate citizen, the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee continues various social contribution activities and efforts to provide more direct and practical help to vulnerable groups in welfare blind spots. We will continue sustainable activities to support neighbors in need around us."
