Gyeonggi Online Trade Promotion Team Supports '3.67 Million USD Export Contracts with 4 ASEAN Countries' 2021 Gyeonggi-do FTA Trade Promotion Team (ASEAN) Operation [Gyeonggi-do]

[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Gyeonggi Province announced on the 6th that "an online trade promotion team composed of export companies within the province supported export consultations and contracts targeting four ASEAN countries from the 16th of last month to the 3rd, achieving successful results."

According to the province, through a video consultation held at the Suwon Value High-End Hotel, the Philippines-Thailand trade promotion team supported 17 companies, and the Indonesia-Malaysia promotion team supported 14 companies, resulting in a total of 116 consultations worth 10.49 million USD (approximately 12.4 billion KRW) and export contracts worth 3.67 million USD (approximately 4.3 billion KRW).

The province selected companies dealing in household goods, health functional foods, and medical devices, which have high demand in the ASEAN market, based on marketability evaluations of the target regions.

Previously, the province supported overseas market expansion for 84 companies over six sessions targeting eight countries including India and Vietnam.

Next year, considering changes in the international trade environment and economic and industrial conditions, the province plans to carry out market development activities in promising regions worldwide.

Ryu Gwang-yeol, Director of the Economic Office, said, "Many export companies face great difficulties in discovering new buyers and developing sales channels, increasing the importance of non-face-to-face projects," adding, "Next year as well, we will contribute to expanding Gyeonggi Province's exports by widely promoting the excellence of companies and products within the province."
