[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Barogo, a startup operating a last-mile logistics IT platform, announced on the 6th that it has been selected as an 'Excellent Family-Friendly Certified Company' by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.
The Family-Friendly Certification is a system that grants certification through evaluation to companies and public institutions that exemplary operate various family-friendly policies such as childbirth and childcare support, flexible working hours, and family-friendly workplace culture.
Since 2019, Barogo has actively supported work-life balance by implementing a flexible start time policy at 1 PM every Monday.
Employees with children receive a 'Happy Family Allowance' of up to 400,000 KRW per month, and upon childbirth, a congratulatory gift of 1,000,000 KRW regardless of the number of children, along with a childbirth gift worth approximately 300,000 KRW, is provided.
They also support congratulatory allowances for school admissions. 1,000,000 KRW for elementary school admission, 300,000 KRW each for middle and high school admissions, and 1,000,000 KRW for university admission are provided.
In addition, Barogo continues to expand employee welfare benefits such as quarterly welfare point payments and support for health check-up costs for immediate family members or spouses.
A Barogo representative said, "Work efficiency can improve only when work and family are balanced, so we will continue to establish related HR policies. We will strive to create a workplace where moms and dads can work happily."
Meanwhile, Barogo was selected as an excellent family-friendly certified company after document screening, employee satisfaction surveys, and on-site evaluations since June. It will maintain its status as an excellent family-friendly certified company until the end of November 2024.
