[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Hana Bank announced on the 6th that it has signed a business agreement with Korea University to build a smart campus at Korea University.
This business agreement aims to promote mutual cooperation in developing the Korea University integrated application (app), a core project for building Korea University's smart campus, to enhance convenience for Korea University faculty, students, and alumni, and to foster regional coexistence through the use of app payment functions both on and off campus.
The Korea University integrated app will combine functions that were previously operated separately, such as mobile student ID, academic management, and school facility reservation, into one app. In particular, through the business agreement with Hana Bank, a tentative 'KUPAY' feature enabling easy payment via barcode, QR code, etc., will be incorporated.
This will be used not only for various on-campus convenience facilities such as student cafeterias, campus multifunction devices, and certificate kiosk payments, but also for ▲ payments at stores near the school ▲ research mileage by the school ▲ and scholarship disbursements.
The development of the integrated app will proceed in two phases. In the first phase, aiming for application in the new semester of 2022, payment functions will be integrated into the currently used mobile student ID, and in the second phase, by the end of August 2022, additional functions will be added and the payment usage will be expanded to include Korea University Medical Center.
Park Seong-ho, CEO of Hana Bank, said, "We will strive to fulfill our social responsibility by sharing the know-how of building this integrated app with other universities."
