[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] bhc Chicken announced on the 6th that the number of stores that have obtained the restaurant hygiene grade supervised by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has exceeded 1,000. This is the highest record in the industry.
This milestone of surpassing 1,000 stores with hygiene grades is very unusual considering that it is relatively difficult for the chicken industry, which uses a lot of oil, to obtain hygiene grades.
bhc Chicken has been promoting the acquisition of restaurant hygiene grades for each store since November last year. In particular, they have increased personnel in the quality control department, QCS, and are actively engaged in improvement activities to maintain a clean hygiene environment and high quality within stores. Additionally, for the first time in the industry, the QCS department at headquarters directly operates a call center that handles customer complaints without outsourcing, establishing an optimal system that listens to customer requests and reflects them in quality and service improvements, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction.
Meanwhile, the restaurant hygiene grading system supervised by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety designates grades only to establishments with excellent hygiene levels. Based on strict evaluation criteria by specialized assessment agencies, the results are divided into three levels: ‘Very Good’, ‘Good’, and ‘Fair’.
