Motorola Expected to Unveil 'Edge30 Ultra' Equipped with 'Snapdragon 8 Gen 1'

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Motorola is expected to unveil its flagship smartphone, the 'Moto Edge 30 Ultra,' equipped with Qualcomm's new chipset 'Snapdragon 8 Gen 1' within this year.


On the 5th (local time), IT media outlet PhoneArena reported that Motorola will reveal the Edge 30 Ultra (China name Edge X30) in China on the 9th. According to PhoneArena, the Edge 30 Ultra will be released first in China on the 15th of this month and will launch globally in January next year.


The Edge 30 Ultra is expected to use Qualcomm's new flagship chipset Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 as its application processor (AP). Additionally, the memory is anticipated to feature up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage.


According to IT tipster Digital Chat Station, the display will be 6.7 inches with a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels, using an OLED panel. Furthermore, the Edge 30 Ultra supports a 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+, and is reported to be capable of displaying over one billion colors.


The camera setup is expected to include a triple camera system on the rear, featuring a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. In addition, it is expected to support a large 5000mAh battery and 68-watt (W) wired charging.
