[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] On the 5th, the Justice Party criticized the Democratic Party of Korea's presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung's remark that "because my background is lowly, if you dig into it, a lot of dirty things come out" as "emotional manipulation."

Justice Party leader Yeo Young-guk said in his opening remarks at the National Committee meeting that day, "Candidate Lee played the emotional card by mentioning his humble origins as a poor child laborer and lowly status," adding, "In reality, he is trying to hide his own faults."

He further attacked Lee's remarks as "an insult and denigration of citizens who strive with all their might to live honestly and maintain their dignity through poverty and hard labor."

On the 4th, at the Gunsan Public Market in Jeonbuk, candidate Lee mentioned his family background, saying, "My background is lowly. Because my family is lowly, if you dig around, a lot of dirty things come out."

He also criticized People Power Party presidential candidate Yoon Seok-youl. Leader Yeo said, "Candidate Yoon is the worst presidential candidate in history, facing all kinds of family scandals and allegations of illegality, while holding shocking views on labor and human rights," adding, "Although his approval rating is leading, his incompetence, unable to take a single step forward without relying on someone, falls short not only of a presidential candidate but even of a local councilor working without support staff."
